Jack.is [a] Typist

Meaning that I enjoy typing, besides doing it anyway as a matter of course.

I use an IBM Model M (1391401) keyboard and a Dvorak layout.

Interview with the Typists

Statistics

Instant Death Mode

IDM is a new universe on Typeracer in which any error immediately disqualifies the typist from that race. This mode requires utmost attention to accuracy and makes it difficult to complete many races. Because only races with perfect accuracy get completed and logged, these stats represent more of my best skill than the stats from the normal racing mode. Updates will post slowly, but they should increase in rate as I improve accuracy. I update every 100 races.

Normal Mode

Stats from Typeracer updated every 100 races.

The table got way too large, so I've moved the full table of stats beginning at race 1000 to All Statistics. Go there to see the full table; I'll list the current 1,000-group below (when I reach x,000, retire (x-1),000 through (x-1),900 to the full table, and begin again with x,000 here).

Times are UTC-0600.

Because an image is worth a thousand protests that I really did type that fast.

Screenshots for races 1,000-5,000 have been zipped and are available at /files/typeracer5000.zip. Screenshots for 5,100-10,000 will be posted and archived at 10,000.

I can barely type 60WPM, without fucking up. Nice.

You use Dvorak right? I've always wanted to find some Dvorak typists (besides myself) in order to crunch some numbers comparing Dvorak to Qwerty. Msg me.

The buckling-spring patent: http://www.google.com/patents?vid=4118611

http://gdgt.com/ibm/model-m/specs/ is all I could find for specs without looking awfully hard.
